I’ve been an avid reader of the Monthly since the first issue. Over that time I’ve been amused, inspired, enlightened as well as occasionally amazed or irritated. However, there has been a major gap in your coverage. I cannot remember reading anything of consequence about the natural environment; nature. As a magazine claiming to be about ‘Australian politics, society and culture’, perhaps you see the subject as being in the realm of science. But politics, society and culture, particularly through the arts, have as much to tell us on the subject – probably more. The need for such coverage has never been greater.
