The Monthly offers rolling 6- and 12-month digital and print subscriptions, in addition to bundle subscriptions across other Schwartz Media titles. Subscribe
You can read one paywalled paid article per month on the website. To read more articles and access all the journalism in the e-book edition, you will need a subscription. Simply log in via the email address and password associated with your subscription.
When you subscribe to the print edition of the magazine, you are also entitled to access all content behind the paywall, but you must have an online account and a current subscription.
If your subscription is expired, or you have a subscription to only The Saturday Paper or Quarterly Essay, you will be able to sign in but you will not have access to content behind The Monthly paywall.

We accept payment via Visa, Mastercard and American Express. We also accept cheques or money orders made out to "The Monthly". Organisations such as schools and libraries can request to be invoiced by sending an email to [email protected].
Unfortunately subscriptions to The Monthly cannot be paused.
The Monthly publishes 11 issues per year, including a bumper summer issue which covers December-January. The Monthly can be delivered to any address in Australia, and will be delivered at the end of each month when new issues are published. Issues of The Monthly are available via the app, which can be installed in the Apple store or Google Play store. Please ensure you are signed into the app with the username and password you used to subscribe. Learn more
The Monthly is available in Apple News. Subscribers can get access in the Apple News app on your iPhone, iPad or macOS. Sign in with your Schwartz Media account to use your existing subscription.
