Part 1 | Part 2 At the SPAA Conference 2009, Matthew Weiner talks about Mad Men, the television series he created to such acclaim. In an expansive mood, he tells the assembled audience and host Debi Enker about the genesis of the series, the all-important original casting process, the ideas behind its particular feel and dramatic style, and the process of creating this uber-successful piece of television drama.
Weiner, previously a writer on The Sopranos, produced the first series of Mad Men for a 2007 premiere and recently completed the third series. It has won multiple awards, including nine Emmys and three Golden Globes.
