Tim Costello on the politics of aid and development (and global warming)

Tim Costello, CEO of World Vision Australia, discusses the increasingly complex world of international aid and development. Recent experiences in Burma and China as well as episodes in Africa and the Middle East have demonstrated that NGOs are no longer automatically assumed to be politically neutral aid-providers, thus complicating the operations of organisations such as World Vision. Costello also raises the dire implications of global warming on (particularly) the most vulnerable developing nations.
