At this United States Studies Centre event, Thomas E Mann, one of America's most highly regarded political commentators, discusses the first chapter of the Obama presidency with USSC CEO Geoff Garrett, and also looks to its future.

Mann is a noted congressional scholar, an author of 14 books on American politics, and is a senior fellow of the Brookings Institution, a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He has taught at Princeton University, Johns Hopkins University, Georgetown University, the University of Virginia and American University.
