Sex, knowledge and society: Is science gendered? Hosted by Natasha MitchellFor most of us, it is reassuring to think that scientific knowledge has some absolute quality of truth, something beyond the inevitable distortions of personal bias and the filters of social conditioning. But is it possible to disentangle the influence of political forces from the generation of scientific knowledge? This highly-qualified and highly-communicative panel looks at the manifold ways scientific knowledge is gender biased, and the implications of this on our broader understanding of science and knowledge. The session, hosted by Natash Mitchell (ABC RN) includes historian of science from Stanford Londa Schiebinger, philosopher Simon Blackburn and academic Karen Green. Source: Duration: 29m 49s
