Taking the thoughts of Solzhenitsyn and Orwell as a starting point, activist minister and academic George Hunsinger speaks on the modern practices of torture that have been carried out with the approval of the American government. He puts forward the idea that violence finds refuge in falsehood and that in fact the history of US involvement in torture is largely the history of exemptions for the CIA. As a Presbyterian minister he also considers the responsibility of Christians in light of recent torture revelations.
