Writer and broadcaster Phillip Adams spends a fascinating half-hour in conversation with New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin.

Nagin gained international attention in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurrican Katrina which devastated the New Orleans area. He holds the distinction of being virtually the only US public official who emerged from the crisis with his reputation intact, and was subsequently (and in some ways remarkably) re-elected as mayor.

The discussion took place as part of the National Summit 2009: Sustainable Globalisation - Will it survive the GFC?, hosted by the United States Studies Centre and the Harvard University Committee on Australian Studies.
