Part 1 | Part 2 [9]
In her lecture for the University of Melbourne's Key Thinkers series, Prof Verity Burgmann (Social and Political Sciences) traces the life and work of Italian moral and Marxist political philosopher Antonio Negri. Negri was a controversial figure, accused by the Italian government of everything from being the mastermind of the Red Brigades to the May 1978 assassination of Aldo Moro - though these were politically motivated charges and no link was ever established between Negri and the Red Brigades and almost all of the charges against him (including 17 murders) were dropped within months of his arrest due to lack of evidence.
