Quarterly Essay 31: Now or Never [8] by Tim Flannery
Speaking on the topic of climate change, Tim Flannery details the many challenges facing mankind if it is to mitigate the worst impacts that have been predicted. But in this powerful address he also puts forwards some means to reduce carbon emissions, proven solutions that he suggests must be employed on a mass scale if the earth's climate is to pull back from its 'point of no return'.
Flannery's speech, which draws on ideas put forward in his recent Quarterly Essay, was presented by Monash University's 50th Anniversary Lecture Series and the Faculty of Science.
