In this talk presented by Grattan Institute, Professor David Brady (Hoover Institution, Stanford University) speaks about an area of great current interest: the polarisation of politics in the United States. Brady presently heads a joint project between the Brookings Institution and the Hoover Institution on this subject, and he outlines some of his key theories and findings about political polarisation in the US: its importance, its effects and what it tells us about the US political system.
