Have we got the government we deserve?
Parliament lacks the gravitas, as Jonathan Green puts it, to command the respect of the people. Its moral authority is collapsing under the weight of ongoing scandal and partisan politics.
But the desperate struggle for survival is also the by-product of a hung parliament. George Megalogenis has described the 2010 election result as a resounding 'None of the Above', meaning we as a public chose not to endorse any party.
The responsibility for the dire state of politics today is spread far and wide. It's time for an amnesty, and with this in mind we endorse Megalogenis' War on Whingeing.
