At this Wednesday Lunch at Lowy presentation, Professor Warwick McKibbin explores how the global financial crisis can be understood as a series of unexpected shocks. He outlines what these shocks were, what were the resulting flow-on effects from each, and how conventional economic models explain the global adjustment and the implications of alternative policy responses.

Warwick McKibbin is a Professor of economics at the Australian National University, Professorial Fellow of the Lowy Institute and a non-Resident Senior Fellow at The Brookings Institution in Washington DC where he co-directs the Climate Change program. He is a member of the Board of the Reserve Bank of Australia.
