Carlo Ratti: Future cities (p2)Part 1 | Part 2 Acclaimed Italian architect and engineer Professor Carlo Ratti presents a series of projects which involve new approaches to the study of the built environment. Drawing on time-based mapping and other uses of new technology, his work involves a radical re-imagining of the way we conceptualise, use and move around the modern city. Prof. Ratti earned his MPhil and PhD degrees in environmental design and architecture from Cambridge. In 2002 he established the international architectural design practice carlorattiassociati, and he currently teaches at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His projects have shown at leading museums and exhibitions worldwide including the Venice Biennale (2006), the Kunsthaus Graz (2005), Ars Electronica (2006), MoMA (2008) and Design Museum Barcelona (2009). He is Queensland's inaugural Innovator in Residence. Ideas Festival, Brisbane. March 2009 Source: Ideas Festival, Brisbane HelpIf playback stutters, press pause and give it time to preload.
